What Pong.com stores: Firebase auth, Firestore profiles, analytics, local storage, and future ads.

You can play without an account. Matchmaking may still sign you in anonymously so the queue can tell two browsers apart. That anonymous session is not a profile you fill out.

FIREBASE AUTHENTICATION

If you choose an account, sign-in goes through Firebase Authentication with Google or X. We store the resulting user id, the display name, and the country you select. We do not receive your Google or X password.

FIRESTORE PROFILES

Signed-in profiles live in Cloud Firestore under the Firebase project that hosts this deployment (production id pong-prod-20260712). A profile holds your display name, country, match stats, coin balance, equipped cosmetics, and practice inventory. Ranked stats are written by the server. Cosmetic and coin fields can be updated from your browser and are not used to change ranked matches.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

When the server is configured with a measurement id, the page loads Google Analytics. The current production measurement id is G-B1WT4DM02Q. Events include match starts, match results, sign-in, shop-adjacent actions such as power use, and voice connection. If no measurement id is configured, the analytics script is not loaded.

LOCAL STORAGE

This browser keeps a guest profile, sound settings, the coin wallet, owned cosmetics, and a short list of rally lengths (including NOVA practice totals). Clearing site data removes them from this device. A signed-in profile can restore the wallet from Firestore.

VOICE

Microphone audio is peer-to-peer during a human match. It is not recorded by the game server. The server only relays the small WebRTC setup messages needed to connect the two browsers. TURN, when configured, relays encrypted audio for networks that cannot connect directly. You can play with Talk left muted.

ADS

A rewarded coin slot and a display slot exist in the client, both off unless the server sets ADS_REWARDED or ADS_DISPLAY. No ad-network id is installed. Nothing is drawn over the court. If ads are turned on later, this page will name the network before they load.
